CLOVER HONEY (Scientific Name: Trifolium repens)
There are over 300 species of the clover plant, some are more known and used for honey production like the alsike clover, red clover, crimson clover and the white clover which is the very common type in the United States. Depending on where it is harvested and source, Clover honey varies in color from water-white tending towards extra light amber and has a mild, delicate sweet flavor that lingers in the mouth. Raw clover honey has been said to have antidiarrheal, diuretic and expectorant properties among others. Use to sweeten your tea in place of sugar to increase the therapeutic effect.
