Orange Blossom Honey

ORANGE BLOSSOM (Scientific Name: Epilobium angustibolium)

Just as the name implies, our raw orange blossom honey is gotten from the orange tree; a direct product of the nectar of Orange Blossom flowers. Orange blossom honey may be a single variety but is often a combination of citrus sources including oranges, grapefruit, lime, lemon, and mandarin trees. Orange trees bloom in March and April. Our local raw orange blossom honey is 100% pure U.S honey - unheated, unfiltered and unadulterated.

Characteristics:

Orange blossom honey has a white to extra light amber color. The aroma is fresh, of orange blossoms and flavor is distinct, mild but very sweet, with just a subtle hint of citrus. Raw orange blossom honey contains:  antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy and anti-cancer properties. It also has immune supporting effects on the body.

Uses:

Orange Blossom honey will impart a good deal of sweetness to any dish. The citrus taste and bouquet make this a wonderful addition to tea. It can be drizzled on some vanilla ice cream, yoghurt or fruit, also pairs nicely with cheeses and excellent to use on toasts, cakes, biscuits , as dip for fresh figs, melons or even in delicious spicy meat or beef dishes.

Storage:

Can be stored at room temperature. This raw honey tends to crystallize quickly, but this is a natural change that is easily reversed by placing the jar in some hot water (about 110 degrees).
